This publication brings together select work spanning five decades, exploring anew the range and depth of this prolific artist’s creative output.
This publication includes newly commissioned text by British art historian Marius Kwint. It is the first major publication about the artist since critic Peter Fuller’s 1981monograph Robert Natkin (Harry N. Abrams, 1981). It traces Natkin’s painterly journey from the early 1960s through the end of his life, and includes images of work from each of his major series. It also includes images of important works by Natkin in museum collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Hirschhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and the Brooklyn Museum.
